The Bunny Rehab Room, also known as the Bunny Spa Resort, is a STRESS-FREE ZONE. No matter what is going on in the outside world or in my life, there are NO WORRIES here. There is only love, compassion, healing, unlimited time and blooming friendships...oh, and plenty of fresh delicious greens to munch on. I always seem to have a lot (too many) of kitty cat and puppy dog attack victims during the summer months. To help me keep from having so many of these victims...please check out this site www.awareone.org for more information on how to avoid these senseless deaths and injuries. It costs me an average of $2.00 a day to care for each one of these victims. This is for the costs of antibiotics, ointments, food and supplies. I don't ask for donations (but will gladly accept them), I take care of these critters for the love of them. Help me by being responsible pet owners of your cats and dogs. I can't replace a baby bunny's mom...let's face it...nobody can replace mom. I do my best to fulfill their needs and I admit that I love trying to do it...but I would much rather their real mom do the job. She is better equipped to handle their sensitive tummies and understands their wants and needs. ![]() "1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 Ready or Not Here I come." My name is "Whataface". A big dog tried to give me a sniff and used his teeth instead. He took off my lip...but left my sense of humor. I like to make a mess with my food in my cage. I think it's funny that my foster mom has to clean it up everytime she comes in to see me.
![]() My name is Lance. I am just hanging out for awhile living up the good life. Where else can you get great (free) meals, peace and quiet and sauna baths for an injuried leg and missing butt fur? That cat just thought he had me...HA...you should see what I did to the cat.
![]() Lil' Puddin thought I needed help with my notes.
A mixture of noses, ears and tails.
Above: Max = only 6 days old. She was having a rough time adjusting to "not the momma's milk" and also because she was sooo small for her age.
Below: Max = all grown up and what a beautiful girl she turned into with all the personality of 5 bunnies in one. What an absolute dream she turned out to be.
This is Pookie! Yes, she is missing an ear. Some mean dog took a nibble and ended up with a mouth of bunny ear. She really enjoyed her formua and woud almot bite the nipple off the syringe. |
![]() This is may not be my good side...but I am alive. I'm not worried...my fur will grow back even more beautiful than before. I really don't like being held. I am a big girl now and I can eat on my own...I don't understand why she insists on holding me like this...it is un-nerving and degrading. UGH!
![]() My name is HunnyBunny. A sweet lady named Jennifer rescued me from a nosey dog that pulled me out of my nest by my foot. That silly dog took my toes as a snack. Jennifer took good care of me until she could get me here. I've grown up a lot and have learned to use my foot without toes. I can run, hop and bink as good as the rest of the guys. I consider myself as the welcoming committee to all the new bunnies that have come in while I am here. I like to welcome everyone with bunny kisses and binks.
Swifty...he stayed loose in the rehab room for several days. The first bunny I had problems trying to catch. He was a smart little trickster and thought I was just playing a game of "who can catch the bunny?...You can't!"
I always sit indian style on the floor as I feed the little ones. After each one gets fed, I put them in my lap. Sometimes they will snuggle down for a little nap in my robe... sometimes they just think it is play time and bounce off to go find BuddyBunny and LucyGucy to play with. But this was one of those cold mornings where they just wanted to snuggle... yep, I was late for work that morning. I couldn't bring myself to disturb them.
The City of Duluth Public Works Department called me about a litter of bunnies next to the road where their mother didn't win the stand off with a car. They handed these adorable little guys over in hopes that they could grow and be released back into the wild. Well, these guys are no longer Duluth residents but are now part of the wild residents at Little Mulberry Park in Auburn, Georgia. Yippeee.
Pookie ALL GROWN UP and ready for release any day now. |
